This is what your work in Lucerne looks like
- You treat vulnerable elderly people with complex health problems in a modern rehabilitation center
- You carry out both individual therapies and group sessions for fall prevention and mobility improvement
- You work with a multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists, speech therapists, doctors and nurses
- Together with patients, you set realistic treatment goals and guide them step by step towards more independence
- You treat patients who are rehabilitating after operations, strokes, or who are dealing with conditions such as Parkinson's or dementia
- You guide and advise family members and carers about the disease and daily support
- You work with modern facilities, including an exercise room, exercise pool and fitness
- You get space for professional development through courses and refresher courses in geriatric specializations
- You document treatments digitally in accordance with Swiss quality guidelines
- You contribute to the happiness of seniors who can go home after treatment
Who are you?
- You have at least (almost) completed your BSc physiotherapy and preferably have a specialization or interest in geriatrics
- You have experience or passion for working with vulnerable elderly people and complex patients
- You have a command of German at least B2 level or are motivated to achieve this level (optionally via our own German teacher)
- You are patient, empathetic and know how to motivate older people in their recovery process
- You enjoy working as a team and sharing information with other disciplines
- You are good at dealing with changes and adapt your treatments flexibly
- You have strong communication skills and can explain clearly to patients and their loved ones
- You have an eye for the person behind the patient and respect their life story
- You are proactive and contribute ideas about optimizing treatments
