October in Switzerland: when the mountains turn golden
October vibes? It probably rains in the Netherlands, but here in Switzerland, nature turns gold and red. The mountain tops sparkle in the sunlight and the air feels so fresh that it gives you energy. October is really the month to get out and about. And we're going to tell you exactly where to go!
Autumn walks that leave you breathless
Swiss nature is really doing its best for you right now. Everywhere you look, the colors are exploding. From deep orange to fiery red. Perfect timing for that walk you've been dreaming about for months!

- Engadin: here the larch forests get such a bright orange color that you think someone has painted them
- Lauterbrunnen Valley: imagine: waterfalls cascading down between golden forests
- Valle Maggia: here you get autumn and Mediterranean atmosphere in one package
Team takeoff tip: Take time to stop at a mountain hut. Hot chocolate with this view? That is pure enjoyment.
Attention Cheese lovers: Lucerne is calling you!
Put it in your agenda: October 18, 09:00-17:00 does it stand Lucerne Cheese Festival on the schedule at Kapellplatz, 6004 Lucerne. And the best part? It costs you absolutely nothing!
Here you can really enjoy all Swiss cheeses: from small local farm productions to well-known names such as Emmentaler or Sbrinz. Plus, there's plenty of entertainment and extras around the festival. We say: go there and eat yourself through the range!

In October, everything in Ticino is about the Castagnate: chestnut parties that you have to experience. In Ascona and Lugano, chestnuts are roasted over an open fire, served with local wine and cheese. The atmosphere? Pure Swiss and irresistibly cozy.
